Friendly Labrador for adoption

I found a male lab the other day. He does not have a micro chip, but he was definitely someones pet, as he is house trained and can sit when told.

He is about 4 or 5, very friendly, gentle, and well behaved.

I cannot keep him for too long, so if I cannot find him a home, I will have to neuter and release him. His pics are below.

Below are two of the three puppies my wife found abandoned in the rain.

As of July the 9th, they are still available.

They have had all the required shots, and are microchipped.
They are both girls and around 2 to 3 months old.

I estimate them as knee high when fully grown.

These 2 girls are still available if anyone is interested.

This little guy has a very sad story. Moral: MAKE SURE YOUR PETS ARE VACCINATED CORRECTLY.

My wife was at the pound two weeks ago. This guy comes in with this dog, which he adopted a few weeks before.

As he did not want to spend money on the pup, he did not have him vaccinated.

He picked up a type of canine hepatitis, which resulted in him losing sight in one eye. This idiot STILL did not take him to the vet. Guess what? He got worse and lost the sight in his other eye and his liver failed.

The idiot had the nerve to bring him back to the pound, complaining they gave him a reject dog and wanted his NT 100 back.

As the pup was contagious, they wanted to put him down immediately.

My wife took him straight to our vet.

He has been their ever since.

He has had a few blood transfusions, but he may still die.

If he makes it, he will regain some sight.

The vets also found he had distemper as well.

If he gets better I will put him up for adoption.

The vet assures me he is in no pain.

Unfortunately Tigger (the name we gave him) passed away this morning.

Yesterday, the vets felt he was doing better, but I guess he was just not strong enough.

I hope he is in a better place now, as his life here was full of suffering.

Please make sure all your pets are correctly vaccinated.

I was at the animal shelter near the zoo today. They have had a lot of dogs and puppies in recently. They are all looking for new homes.

The process is pretty easy. The cost is 100NT, and the dog will be microchipped and vaccinated for rabies. You just need you ID or ARC.

I have posted some photos below.

If you need directions let me know.

These pets are adorable! I've been in Taiwan for a few months now... has anyone noticed that a lot of dog owners treat their animals more like pet birds here? For example, the dogs are often on a short leash, in a cage or lying around on the floor of someone's shop. They look pretty sad. They don't even wag their tales anymore when there's people around. :( Then when it's time to go for a walk, they're scootered around or picked up and put in a pet carrying bag!

I saw a family of dogs (1 brown adult dog, 2 brown pups and 2 black pups) running wild on Monkey Mountain and although cautious, these domesticated animals seemed to be in a lot better shape!

it is great that there are people who care for the homeless dogs in kaohsiung. my wife and me took care for a puppy as well before we went home to our country this summer. during the summer a friend took care of the dog and we were hoping that he would keep it. unfortunately he will move to taipei and so give us the dog back. now we really have a problem, because my wife and i work fulltime and when classes will start next week we do not know what to do with the dog.
so we will try to find someone to adopt the dog. i will post pictures tomorrow when he is back at our place. if there is no one there are only two options for us. bring him to a shelter or release him into the after neutering.

Why don't you keep the dog? Send him to the shelter and most likely he will be killed.
My wife and I work full time, and we have 9 dogs.

Hi Michael - sorry for my late reply but since work started i was very busy this weak. Why not keep him:
We never intended to keep him. When students brought the puppy to my wife's office our plan was to cnr him. We asked an organization doing this kind of stuff but they told us that the puppy is to young to get neutered. So we decided to find someone who could keep it. One student was interested in the dog (she was the one who brought him to the department building in the first place. but she had to leave him in front of the classroom and the dog ran away then other students found him and brought him to my wife). She said she will take him back but then found out that she is not allowed to have a dog in her apartment. Then another student was interested in the dog and he took him home on Friday. On Saturday he called us that he cannot handle the dog and brought him back. So time ran out because we went home during the summer-break. The plan was that a colleague of my wife will take care of the dog and there was a realistic chance that he will keep him. But the he suddenly quit his job and moved to Taipei.
So now the dog is with us again and he is surprisingly well behaved. The problem is that we have to leave him in our flat when we have to work. He doesn't like it and is barking a lot. It is only a matter of time until our neighbors will complain. It is not allowed to have a dog here so i think we could get problems sooner or later.
Another problem is that there is nobody who can keep care of him if we want to travel to Taipei over the weekend.
So this is it. Unfortunately we missed the adoption event last Sunday but we will attend the next one for sure. The dog is some kind of native dog and he is very clever and agile. The biggest Problem is that he is barking a lot in different situations. i cannot find the camera at the moment but i will upload some pictures later. i hope that there is someone who wants to take him!

You should look on forumosa.com and contact a poster called ex animo. He has a sanctuary near Taipei I think.
He will probably take the dog. I have ten at the moment, but have no more space.
Some vets have cages outside for animals looking for homes. Usually charge about 100 a day.
Put an advert on all the Kaohsiung websites. Sending him to the pound will mean death for the dog.

I was at the zoo pound over the weekend. There is another great Dane there. I do not think he is 100percent pure, but he is a large boy. More Irish Wolfhound size. A lot of people wanted to adopt the last great dane, so if you are lookin for a gentle giant, there is another one available.
